A 5-door mid-size SUV, Toyota Fortuner has been built on the Toyota’s revolutionary IMV (Innovative International Multipurpose Vehicle) platform which is also shared by its siblings, like Hilux and Kijang Innova.
Currently in its second generation, the Fortuner is being built in a number of countries, including Pakistan, Indonesia, India, Egypt and Argentina. Here it might be surprising for you to note that despite being a vehicle of Japanese origin, the Fortuner is not being offered to the public in Japan, as well as its neighboring countries, like South Korea and China.
Even though the Toyota Fortuner 2019 price in Pakistan is over 60 lac rupees, it is hugely popular in the country for its extraordinary luxury and performance specs.
Fortuner in a Glimpse:
Offering exceptional accelerated performance, the all-new Fortuner 2019 is a statement of power and lets you face the everyday hurdles and challenges with renewed energy and confidence. The NEW SIGMA 4 technology makes the SUV speak dominance in a manner that is beyond comparison.
With a grand, magnificent look, the exterior exhibits an attitude that can take on extreme challenges of today and tomorrow.
In the inside of the Fortuner, the spaciousness exudes richness with high practicality. It transports you from one destination to another in a world of distinctive class.
Physical & Tech Specs:
Powered by an energetic 2755 cc engine, the Fortuner gives the output of 130 kW @ 3400 rpm to give an energy-rich 4-wheel drive. The engine features the latest 1GD – FTV (Hi) technology, which is a creative endeavor of Toyota.
Rendering it an impressively bold stature, the SUV’s dimensions measure 2478 mm, 1478 mm, and 1105 mm along length, width and height, respectively. The gross vehicle weight is around 2735 kilograms while its large fuel tank can accommodate as much as 80 liters of fuel.
In addition to being a pack of power and performance, the 2019 Fortuner is also full in luxury from inside out.
Exterior:The attractions on the exterior include smart entry system, smart door handle, LED fog lamps, sporty taillamp, sharp bi-beam LED headlights, sturdy 18” aluminum wheels, ‘Welcome Lamp’ on the side mirror, shark fin antenna, door courtesy lamp, and silver side step.
Interior:Featuring a world of distinctive class, the interior boasts a host of luxury-yielding specs and technologies. The things particularly notable here are the push start button, 4.2” multi-information display, 8” infotainment display, dual zone auto air conditioning system, tilt and telescopic steering wheel, power backdoor, illuminated controls, smart connectors, vanity lamp without mirror and lid, and superior leather upholstery.
As is the case with other high-end Toyotas, the Fortuner brings a sophisticated, multi-tier safety system that ensures the safety of the occupants as well as the vehicle itself.
On the first place, you will come across the dual SRS airbags for the driver and the passengers. In case of a collision or crash, the driver and the passenger on the first row are usually most vulnerable to injuries.
Next comes the Vehicle Stability Control System which keeps it firmly on the path especially on the sharp turns and slippery surfaces.
The third important safety feature is that of Hill Assist Control which will ensure the stability of the drive while travelling on hilly areas with upward and downward slopes.
Other safety systems include ABS (Anti-Braking System) and the Emergency Brake Signal.
Seating and Storage:
A 7-seater SUV, the Fortuner’s interior has ample room not only for the comfort of the passengers but also the storage of their belongings. Here the ample amount of space is catered for all the long journeys and tours that require storage.
The seats on the rear can be folded completely to provide you with a huge area for the accommodation of all the large and lengthy items. In addition to providing an incredibly large room for luggage, the interior features a ‘hot and cool box’ for keeping food items cold or warm as per your requirement.
Another notable thing in the cabin of the new Fortuner is the interior lamp, which is fitted with a sunglass holder.
Two variants of the SUV are available in the country, i.e. the 4×4 Hi and 4×2 Hi. The Toyota Fortuner 2019 price in Pakistan is around 4 lacs higher for the high-end 4WD (4-wheel drive) variant. Similarly, the 4WD Fortuner offers a set of high end luxuries which are absent in its 2WD counterpart.
Fortunately, there is no direct competitor of the Fortuner. Mitsubishi’s Pajero is an indirect competitor, but it is not available readily in the market.
